A classic Lao romance
Thao Sithon was a young Lao prince. He heard about Manola from a palace guards, and fell in love with her. But soon after they were married, they separated, as he had to go to war. This famous Lao folktale tells of the couple's quest to be together again.
The walls of Buddhist temples in Laos are often decorated with pictures from folktales and religious parables. This book is illustrated with paintings of Sithon and Manola from one such temple.
